Summary:
As a Field Technician, you will perform routine data and telecommunication breakfix or MAC service requests. Perform PBX or key system upgrades and installations, as well as application upgrades and installations. Install or troubleshoot cabling infrastructure and network devices. Troubleshoot, repair and maintain existing systems to ensure proper operation and customer satisfaction. Be knowledgeable and understanding of telecommunications standards, as well as be able to understand customer needs in order to provide recommendations. The Technician will consistently provide clear and concise communication via email and phone to co-workers andor customer. The chosen candidate will provide exceptional communication skills, a strong attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
Occasional travel to offsite customer locations as needed. Ability to read, write, and communicate orally and written to external and internal customers and employees. Normal vision and normal hearing with or without correction. Ability to move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. periodically throughout the workday. In this position, you will need to move around the job site or office, occasionally ascend and descend a ladder to install cabling, remain in a stationary position, and continuously position yourself to pull cable or reach cabling in tight, low places throughout the day. Must be able to perform tasks requiring hand and feet coordination and repetitive hand and wrist motions.

Responsibilities:
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to one Optus customer.
- Provide detailed resolution information to the central dispatch office as work orders are completed.
- Analyze system logs and identify potential issues.
- Work with Sales, Engineering and Project Management teams to plan and execute system implementations and upgrades.
- Provide documentation regarding installations and as-built schematics.
- Other duties or tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma required; college or vocational trade degree preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in telecom or data installation, specifically with PBX, key systems, and related equipment.
- NEC certifications required; additional certifications (A+, MCP, CCNA, VMware, etc.) preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows OS/Server, T1/ISDN/PRI setup, networking (IP, LAN/WAN), wireless, VoIP, Unified Communications, and SIP Trunks.
- Proficient in basic math, computer use, and data entry.
- Strong customer service and communication skills (written and verbal).
- Physically able to climb, crawl, kneel, reach overhead, and differentiate color-coded wires.
- Detail-oriented team player with excellent organizational habits and a positive attitude.
- Able to multitask, meet deadlines, and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
- Must follow established processes and support company values of quality, productivity, collaboration, cost-efficiency, and safety.
- The pay range is $26-$34/hr, based on experience
