The Senior Project Manager is a senior individual contributor responsible for leading and delivering complex, high‑impact telecommunications projects from initiation through completion. This role is accountable for project execution outcomes:  including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction, but does not have people management responsibilities.

The Senior Project Manager works cross‑functionally with sales, operations, engineering, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with defined business requirements. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to proactively manage risk, resolve issues, and drive projects to successful completion.

RESPONSIBILITES:

Program Leadership

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of complex, multi-site telecommunications projects (e.g., network expansions, infrastructure deployments).

  • Own project delivery outcomes, including scope, timeline, budget, and quality.

  • Maintain accountability for successful completion of defined project deliverables and customer requirements.

  • Lead cross-functional execution through coordination, influence, and structured project management practices.

Program Planning & Execution

  • Build and maintain integrated program plans, milestones, and deliverables across multiple projects and regions. Manages interdependencies between projects and workstreams.

  • Ensure assigned projects remain aligned to scope, timeline, and budget expectations.

  • Coordinate project managers and functional teams across the assigned projects.

Governance & Reporting

  • Define and implement project-level governance and reporting structures to support effective delivery of large-scale, multi-site rollouts

  • Establish structured communication cadences, reporting formats, and escalation paths to ensure consistent visibility into project status, risks, and decisions, and to maintain alignment with both customer stakeholders and internal leadership within Services.

  • Prepare and deliver executive project reviews and status updates, including project progress, risks, milestones, and key decisions. Present updates to senior leadership and customer stakeholders as part of formal project reporting cadences.

Financial Management

  • Develop and manage determined project budgets.

  • Track program costs and monitor financial performance against approved budgets.

  • Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Maintain a consolidated assigned project risk and issue register.

  • Identify and manage cross-project risks, dependencies, and constraints. Escalate major risks or issues to leadership when appropriate.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary coordination point between business stakeholders, operational teams, and leadership.

  • Communicate program progress, risks, and decisions clearly across all levels of the organization.

  • Ensure strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Resource Coordination

  • Work with functional leaders to ensure appropriate staffing and resource allocation.

  • Identify resource gaps and recommend solutions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, program governance, and operational efficiency.

  • ​​​​Capture lessons learned and implement improvements across future programs.


​​​​REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.

  • 8–12 years of project management experience, including 3–5 years leading large-scale, complex, multi-site projects or programs (e.g., national or enterprise rollouts).

  • Proven experience managing cross-functional delivery in technical, telecommunications, or similar environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead execution through influence without direct authority over teams.

  • Strong financial, risk, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience presenting to executive and customer stakeholders, including delivering formal status updates and project reviews.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Occasional travel to offsite customer locations as needed.  Ability to read, write, and communicate orally and written to external and internal customers and employees.  Normal vision and normal hearing with or without correction.  Ability to move boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. periodically throughout the workday.  In this position, you will need to move around the job site or office, occasionally ascend and descend a ladder to install cabling, remain in a stationary position, and continuously position yourself to pull cable or reach cabling in tight, low places throughout the day.  Must be able to perform tasks requiring hand and feet coordination and repetitive hand and wrist motions.
